Cranberry Bliss Renfrew Shirt

Inspired by Marie's gorgeous Renfrew Shirts, especially her flamengo version, I went ahead and ordered a Renfrew Shirt pattern of my own. Once again, Sewaholic does not disappoint: this lady is a seriously skilled patternmaker!

Fabric: cotton jersey from my stash, fairly heavy weight
I cut a size 6 for the top part and size 8 for the hips, but I will probably go down a size for my next version because this is too big.

The sleeves are self-drafted. BUT, I have wonderful news for you! I'm working on a ruched sleeve tutorial so you can make your own -- which are the same sleeves I used for the Pyjama Dress.

Part 1 of the tutorial (drafting the pattern) will go up on Saturday, and Part 2 (assembly) on Tuesday.

  4. Everywhere I look I see another Refrew. I keep resisting because isn't it just a t-shirt?? Apparently a really great one—I'm putting it on my Christmas list. Beautiful top!

    1. Yes, that's what I thought until I made one! There is definitely the comfort element... I've probably gotten more wear into my last two jersey garments than into any other thing I've made combined.

  5. Wow, this really knocks your socks off! What an amazing modification to the humble but ever popular Renfrew. It looks amazing adrienne. I've seen your tutorials too, must have been v time consuming to do, but brilliant as others will be able to give it a whirl too. You must be pleased to have nailed these pattern drafting skills..

    1. I wouldn't say that I've nailed pattern drafting by any stretch, but I'm glad you like the tutorial! I've learned so much along the years from other people's tutorials, that I was eager to contribute my small bit! :-)
