Four Sewing Challenges

I'm participating in not one, not two, not three, but FOUR sewing challenges at the moment:

1) Super-blogger Karen (if you don't know Karen, you either don't read sewing blogs or you've been living under a rock) came up with a brilliant idea to hold us accountable to our Sewlutions -- the Sewlution Jar. Mine is to make trousers complete with fly zipper. I haven't yet started on that and it regularly haunts me late at night, along with other stressful items on my to-do list. Karen made clear that she could pull any name out of the jar at any time to check up on their progress. Do I want to lose face when that happens not really.

2) I'm excited about the Stashbusting Sewalong put on by Cation Designs and EmSewCrazy because, you know, the stash keeps growing. There is a theme for each month and February's theme is Love. These two ladies asked that we officially declare our intentions so here goes:
I, Adrienne of All Style and Substance, commit to using 24 pieces of stash fabric in 2013.
That's it, I've committed, no turning back now!

3) In Winnie's PolkaDot FrockFest we will be sewing the beloved New Look 6000 in polka dot. I bought the perfect fabric for it today and I have my game plan all laid out and ready.
What's that you say? Didn't I pledge to "not buy any more fabrics"? Ahem, that's why we went shopping this morning and we're making the pledge tonight.

4) And last but not least, there is Julia Bobbin's Second Mad Men Challenge. I drooled and drooled over your Mad Men outfits last year and was totally ecstatic when I learned of round two.

  1. Wow, I love your ambitious plans! I wish I could take part in Winnie's challenge, but February is going to be way to busy for me. I'm hoping to manage the Mad Men one, I did it last year and it was so much fun!!!

  2. I wouldn't mind taking part in all of them. I'm definitely doing the sewlution challenge (a jacket!).

Good luck with all the sewing goals. I can't wait to see what you do for the Mad Men and Polka Dot Frock Fest!

  4. Wow, very ambitious! I would love to take part in the Mad Men challenge, but am no where near thinking that one through. Very much looking forward to seeing yours though ...& your dotty frock of course!
